Thumb War

I'd rather you took a pacifier. But, after 10 weeks of colic, if sucking your thumb is soothing, then go for it! I am a bit concerned that it's so hard for you though. Honestly Lovebug, most little ones are doing it in the womb. At almost 14 weeks old, you still haven't totally figured out how to get your opposable thumbs into your mouth (not your eye, nose, or cheek) and then to the center of your tongue where you could then suck. The occasional time that you do, sadly, one suck and you push the thumb right back out, much to your despair. Other times, you try to get both thumbs into your little mouth at the same time. I fear you are a little slow to realize that if you can't manage to get one thumb in, you're not going to get both. Maybe you figure if you try both thumbs at once the odds will be with you and you'll get at least one in? I promise you that one day you will win this thumb war. Fight on Little Lovebug, fight on.
